HON. DANIEL PALMIERI BIOGRAPHY
Daniel
Palmieri, Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, based in Nassau county, Long Island. Before his recent election
in 2010, Daniel Palmieri was a Judge of the County Court and designated as an Acting Justice of the New York Supreme Court.
He has and will continue to preside over civil and criminal cases. Elected to the County Court in 1994, he was reelected in
2005 after a one year hiatus in private practice. He previously served in the Nassau County District Court.
Prior
to taking the bench, Judge Palmieri was Vice President of Corporate Property Investors, which was an owner of commercial real
estate throughout the United States, a member of the firm now known as Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, Mineola, New York,
and an associate at the Dewey Ballantine Firm in New York City. During his more recent return to private practice, he was
a Senior Counsel at Reisman, Peirez and Reisman, LLP, Garden City, New York, a Judicial Hearing Officer in Nassau and Suffolk
Counties and an arbitrator for National Arbitration and Mediation and FINRA. He is a graduate of St. John's College and St.
John's Law School, where he excelled academically. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the St. John's Law School
Alumni Association and is a dedicated supporter of law school alumni activities.
Judge Palmieri has been an active
member of the Nassau County Bar Association, where he has served as an elected director, editor of its monthly journal and
a featured columnist. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, various local and specialty bar associations.
He was a long time member of the Nassau County Judicial Committee on Women in the Courts and actively participated in many
of its programs. Prior to becoming a judge, he was an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Judge Palmieri has published numerous decisions in the New York State Official Reporter and the New York Law Journal, and
various articles in the ICSC "Legal Update" and the Nassau Bar Association Journal. He has lectured extensively
at programs and seminars sponsored by the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations, the Columbian Lawyers and other
groups. A long time resident of Garden City, New
York, he is married to Mary Ellen O'Brien, who is an attorney specializing in appellate practice.

Judge Palmieri has won one of four seats in the
Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District in the November 2, 2010 Election. He received the most votes of the eight candidates
running. He wishes to thank all his friends and supporters for their roll in helping him during the campaign.
